DOARS- Week 8 Day 1- The End Of Love Day

Welcome back for another entertaining (hopefully) chapter of DOARS! I pieced this entry together from three different diaries, so I hope you enjoy this change of pace! This is the post I've been waiting to share with you guys. :)

Last night after Mom went to bed, Dad asked me if Raquel and I could take the day off and find somewhere other than home to be. Apparently today is love day. After what may or may not be a considerable amount of money changing hands, I agreed. Hey, don't knock me too much for it, I was the one that had to sneak Pat both in and out of the house with neither of my parent's knowledge, I think that deserves a little monetary compensation.

Pat and I took advantage of the very early morning hours to get some exercise in while my parents slept. It was just like the good ole days, just me and Pat. I was able to forget about the aliens and just hang out with my best friend. I wished those hours never would have ended.

But end they did. We needed to leave the house before mom and dad got up, so Pat had to take it upon herself to wake Raquel, who was sleeping in like normal. Ok, she doesn't really sleep in, but she gets up after I do, so that, to me, is sleeping in. It's a perspective thing. Anyways, Pat must have used an alien mind trick. She just sat there looking at Raquel, and then my sister hopped out of bed, literally hopped, which is completely out of character and the two rushed out the front door. Leaving me trailing behind, of course.

As I was leaving the room, mom came out of hers and I felt a surge of adrenaline. Did she see? How far ahead of me were Pat and Raquel? Was Pat able to hide well enough? What will happen if she finds out about Pat? Will it mean the aliens will lose the war? Would it be so bad if she found out? A thousand questions like those rushed through my mind.

Not wanting to cause alarm or tip her off to anything she didn't see, I mumbled a 'good morning' and 'see you later' and prayed that she wouldn't say or do anything that would show that she had seen Pat. My mother put a dish in the dish washer and mumbled something almost incoherent. I let out a sigh of relief. She hadn't seen Pat, and she was still mostly asleep.

That was far too close for comfort.

We made it, though, all the way to the spring festival to spend our Love Day like a bunch of teenagers would. Horse shoes, junk food, dancing and skating were all on the menu today, and thanks to my dad, we had more than enough money for all those things.

When I asked Pat if it would make a difference if people saw her, she just smirked. It was odd. Actually Pat has been odd ever since she became real. She's a very intriguing person.

She seemed to enjoy dancing alone until two people who live across the street from us started dancing with her. One of them actually looked a lot like my mother, only with short red hair. WEIRD! Pat seemed a little on edge when it was just the three of them dancing. Did they say something to her?

As soon as they joined Pat on the dance floor, Pat yelled at Raquel and I to finish our game of horse shoes and join the fun. I could tell she was uncomfortable, but as soon as we joined her she relaxed a lot. It was odd, but I didn't give it much thought, after all we were here to party, and Pat is odd.

And party we did.

Dear Diary,

When I got up today my son, and presumably my daughter, too, were rushing out the door for who knows what. I could only assume that Cycl0n3 put them up to it. Today is Love Day, after all, and it had been so long since we had a day with just the two of us. Well, we weren't going to have the whole day to ourselves, since I had to work, but we had the morning and early afternoon, and that was good enough.

While I waited for Cycl0n3 to get up, I decided to tend his garden for him. I had been doing that a lot recently, and I think I'm getting pretty decent at it. It doesn't take me nearly as long as it used to, and it really seems to save Cycl0n3 time, which was especially important this morning. After all, I didn't want our date morning eaten up by gardening.

Once he did wake up, I found out what he had planned for us today. An epic hopscotch battle. Needless to say, I won.

It was a lot of fun, and although it wasn't what I was expecting him to plan, it was a blast. We both really enjoyed it. It made us feel young again, and at our ages that's not really an easy thing to do. So all in all, I say it was a success. Good job, baby!

When I got home from work, the kids were just getting home from the park. They looked completely exhausted! I would be, too, if I had been living it up for the last 14 hours! The afternoon showers had drenched them to the bone! I almost scolded them for it, too, but decided against it. If you couldn't party in the rain when you're young, when can you party in the rain? I just didn't see much point in raining on their parade. Ha. Hee heee. Hahahaha. Ok, that was pretty good, right?
What do you know, anyway!?!

It was a lovely full moon tonight, I almost wanted to stay outside and enjoy it a bit more, but I knew Cycl0n3 had something spectacular waiting for me. So I bid the moon adieu and made a plan in my head to enjoy it later with Cycl0n3. I can't even remember the last time we looked at the stars together.

Cycl0n3 threw me a surprise party! He said it was to celebrate me fulfilling all my dreams as a Sports Legend. Apparently it was a costume party. too, so he ushered me into my room and made me put on this ridiculous costume he'd picked up. I was a fire fighter. He said we needed one because with me at the party it was going to get really hot in there! He's so corny.

The rest of the outfits were pretty good. Someone dressed up as an old man... or maybe he was an old man... um.. yeah, I'm pretty sure he was a paparazzo, an old paparazzo. Marty Keaton was a ninja, Agnes was a creepy old hockey player (I'm going to have nightmares about that one!), Ada Sample was a zombie army officer (she did a really excellent job with her zombie make up), and Cycl0n3 was just an ordinary army officer. Oh and Monica was a hot dog, but she didn't make it into this picture. Cycl0n3 and I both agreed that Ada's outfit was the most believable. I mean it looked really professional and she had the zombie shuffle and everything!

The best part of the party was getting to catch up with Monica. Although we were technically still work mates and we still saw each other occasionally, my work had become so busy and took me all around the world, so we really hadn't been able to chat like we used to. She and I talked about her new home and what renovations she wanted to do on it. It was a lot of fun.

-Excerpt from ____Tony___'s diary-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The full moon made its ascent into the sky tonight, and imbued me with the kind of power that the aliens would never want me to have. For this wasn't just any full moon. This was the first full moon of my seasonal year. In spring I burst new life with raw energy, and with the first full moon in spring I'm a force to be reckoned with.
I sent out my best spy to find the woman. The woman who plagued me and threatened to stand in my way. She was working with the aliens, I was sure of it. I had no proof, of course, the darn aliens made sure of that, but I would get it. Tonight.
 As dusk dissipated I heard my spy calling out to me. "She's here. She's here. She's here." My ever wonderful trained pet. She was like a robot, living, or rather not living, to fulfill my command, with none of that pesky simness to get in my way.
I sent a team of more spies to infiltrate the area. My plans for the aliens were coming so close to an end, and tonight I had the capability to pull out all the stops to thwart the coalition of gnomes, Sw0rds, and aliens. I would spare no expense. I would send a legion of spies if that's what I needed. I would get Lynn this very night. I was confident of it. It was the first full moon of spring, no one could stop me.
When my team of zombies showed up, Lynn was ushering her guests out. Perfect. They hid in the shadows until the man called Cycl0n3 and all the guests had scattered, and just as she was about to head inside herself, they descended upon her.
Fear chocked out any screams she might have uttered, and then she was ours.
Her brain was silly putty in my hands. Now that she was connected to my web, I could see anything in her mind that I wanted, I could search her like a database. So a 'helper' was coming to save the aliens, hmm? We'll see about that.
The light will drain out of the minuscule remnant of alien eyes when I stamp their little 'helper' out of existence and then I can watch the rest of their race  follow suit. When all life, but simLife, is eradicated from this miserable universe, then I will be he most powerful thing in existence. I will be greater than the watcher.
Tonight was most definitely a success.
    1. Yay! I shocked you guys! :) It was far too perfect for what I wanted to not do it. I'm still really happy with how I'm getting the story to through it's arc. It's definitely what I imagined, so I just hope everyone else is enjoying it.
      I think the shock I've received thus far has totally made it worth it.
  2. Whoa! I am still not quite caught up, but this is getting serious! Lynn is a zombie!!
    I read the part about Ada having a great zombie costume and laughed, but I didn't realize you were making it part of the story! Wow! What's going to happen to Lynn?
    Congratulations for actually doing something interesting with zombies.
