Hello readers!
Why yes I have been trying a littler harder with my Korean, thanks for asking! :) Now onto the point of this post.
I have a dilemma when it comes to who is to inherit our lovely DOARS. Here's my problem:
I love Raquel, but from a logical standpoint Hector is the obvious heir.
Hector has the right personality for Gen 2 (which I just re-looked up and it's actually Thief and not Emperor of Evil), and he's a boy which means he won't have any maternity time off work, and the next generation rolled 5 kids, so that could be really important. My storyline with the aliens is sort of centering around him, too.
... but I love Raquel. She's by far my favorite. I mean Hector is okay, he certainly has a better mix of Lynn and Cyl0n3's genetics (Raquel is Lynn's clone). And Raquel isn't right for this next generation, how could she become a Master Thief? (well, I have an idea, but it isn't terribly realistic). So I've told myself from the day Hector was born that he'd inherit, but... well, I just really like Raquel. :-/
So I'm going to ask you guys for imput!
This is my first official heir poll for the doars! I'm posting it on the side (to the upper right) and I hope you will weigh in, cos otherwise I will have to decide! Eeeeks. Anyways the poll will be up for a week.
Oooh, tough one. Hector really does have all of the right traits for the generations. But if you like Raquel better, I think you should go for her!
ReplyDeleteDo the rules allow for you to keep the spare around? You could still follow her that way, even if Hector is the official heir. (That might be too many people in the household, but I think there are ways to do that.)
I'm kind of playing with the idea of moving Raquel and whoever she falls in love with next door and inviting them over at least once a week...lol. But, Idk, I might use my free re-roll to try to get something that will let me keep both... lol.
DeleteWell, since the LTW is Master Thief rather than Emperor of Evil, I don't see any particular reason that the sim has to be Evil. If I were going to try to make Raquel into a thief sim, I'd give her Klepto for her final trait and build a storyline around her as a sort of Robin Hood figure stealing in the same of some social good.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of doing what makes things fun. That said, I have a long history of falling in love with my spares, and usually I keep them around for a good long while. Sometimes the actual heir doesn't turn out to be my favorite sim from that generation. So I don't see any reason you couldn't tell Raquel's story even if she's not the heir. It could even be interesting to leave Hector as the heir but tell the majority of the Gen 2 story from Raquel's point of view.
Since you're going to have five kids, eventually Raquel would have to move out. Or you could break tradition and have Hector and Raquel move out of their parents' house (or Cyclone and Lynn leave the house to their kids and move to a luxury retirement home or whatnot). That would allow Raquel to stick around for quite a while. She could even get married so long as you A) used a mod to allow 9 people in the house or B) moved her out before the 5th kid was born.
Great suggestions guys! Thanks! They're actually really useful. :D
DeleteI'm pretty sure the rules say to move out the spare when they become a YA, but I'm not opposed to breaking/bending the rules. Idk, I think I'll have to think about this a little more.
I think I'll see where the poll leaves us and make my decision then, but I'm definitely leaning towards Raquel. Oh yeah! The rules said that no maternity leave mods were allowed, so maybe she'll be a good choice after all...
You HAVE to move out the spare? THAT's the rule I'd break :-p.
DeleteWell, my comp doesn't handle big families very well, so I'm okay with moving spares out. I think I am going to go with whoever the poll selects... which looks like Raquel, lol. I did a "sample" (hehehehehe) re-roll and got single with help- which would let me keep Hector and Raquel, but neither would be able to get married until the 5th kid was halfway through the teen stage. I would also be able to split the kids between the two, though I doubt I would. Idk, it's something that I'll have to think about.
ReplyDeleteOK, I totally think you should do single with help. Not that you have to listen to me, of course.
DeleteHector has Commitment Issues. He's also begging to be pollinated. Raquel could totally have a committed mated who was unable to marry or move in until later. There's no reason you could give her an SO or even a fiance who lived outside the household.
Doing that way lets you keep the spirit of the Random Legacy and not lose Raquel.
That's my vote.
No reason you COULDN'T, dang it. And I won't touch the other stupid typos in that comment. :-p
