Supernatural! Or Naturally Super... (as everyone is saying)

Hello there!

Well, my next generation rolled homemade and they're into their teens, so I was getting nervous, because they had been so tight on money that Cycl0n3 sold all their fruits and veggies just before the fall, and it got cold quick, so the plants went dormant. Yeah. For those of you who aren't aware of Random Legacy Rules- when a generation is homemade (starting when they become YA) everything they eat must be grown on their lot, you cannot fix anything that has a price next to it, and you cannot eat anything that is not cooked at home. Yeah.

So I had been ignoring it, but I was well aware that I was headed for Random Legacy death simply because it will be spring for only a day or two (if that) before Hector becomes a YA and that isn't enough time to grow anything.

But then, origin put SN on sale and there was hope! SN brings planters to the game, planters that don't go dormant! Yay. It also comes with some other really great stuff and (unexpectedly) the PERFECT trait for my simself- Proper! YAY!

All in all I'm happy with my purchase, and here's some random shots from it. :D

  1. Supernatural really is a lot of fun! I had no idea about the planters, though. I'm glad that works out for your legacy! It'd be sad to watch everyone starve to death...

    1. I heard about the planters on a forum somewhere about gardening in the winter. They don't let you plant trees in them... sadly, but frankly I'm just happy that you can plant everything else. I'm so glad that everyone won't be starving to death!

  2. I didn't know about the planters either! There's so much to explore. I've barely scratched the surface.

  3. @ Susan, I'm noticing that about SN! There is a LOT of content in it. I really like the new alchemy skill, but I'm trying to do everything at once, so I really haven't gotten too far into any of the new gameplay. It's really fun, though, and I'm really glad I got it. Not to mention that Moonlight Falls (IMO) is just georgeous. There is a very good possibility that the DOARS will move there just as soon as SV starts having any issues... or maybe earlier, lol.

    1. Moonlight Falls is gorgeous, but I COULD NOT handle the dark lighting, so I ended up installing a lighting mod. There are mods for all things. You'll notice a rather dramatic difference in the outdoor lighting on the blog.

Does this not bother any of you guys? Is my monitor just off?

Also, I really like the visuals, the lots, and a lot of the sims, but the lack of a downtown kind of bugs me.

I haven't done anything with any of the new skills. Really all I've done is had Allison wander around looking at supernaturals. New stuff eases into the Samples at glacial speed because I'm so busy focusing on character motivations and wishes and stuff.

    2. The darkness bothers me slightly, but it's not just dark but also green, which I think keeps me from getting tired of it, lol. So to me it looks kind of like an enchanted forest. Plus, some days aren't as dark as others. I mean, don't get me wrong, I do find it slightly annoying, I was playing a gardener yesterday and I sent her to bed w/o realizing it was 9 AM because it was really dark, but it was also cloudy out and started to rain pretty soon.

Anyways, the only world that really has been uncomfortably dark for me was Bridgeport. I've never heard anyone else complain about it before, but I absolutely hate Bridgeport. Hopefully Moonlight Falls will grown on me instead of the opposite... if so though, I'll probably just not playing in it, since I try to stay away from accumulating mods and cc.
