DOARS- Week 7 Day 2- I See The Light

Welcome Back... again! This post technically classifies today as a posting spree day. But, you were warned, so I really don't feel that bad. :) Read on!
~~~~~~
Dear Diary,
Today is definitely a big laundry day. I woke up and the first thing I did was laundry.
I'm not sure how the gnomes dirty so much laundry, even after the stuff stays clean longer, but I suppose it has something to do with protecting us sims, so I'm trying not to complain about it so much.
You know what goes perfect with laundry days? All around house care! That's right, we now have a self cleaning tub! I think that makes our tub just about the coolest one ever. Try not to be too jealous.
Apparently Cycl0n3 wanted to change things up and go for waffles this morning. They still tasted pretty good, so none of us complained! Also, this is a good opportunity for me to point out how much muscle he's lost. See it? It's comparable to a twig again. Oh well! At least fewer women will be ogling my husband, that can't be a bad thing, right?
Unlike the past several days, today was not a snow day. It hasn't stopped snowing, so I'm not really sure why school was in session. I mean, there's not less snow on the ground, so why now? It's awfully suspicious, if you ask me.
Well, I decided that it was time to give Cycl0n3 my best smile and just spend some nice quality time with him. We'd been so wrapped up in the kids and the aliens and the gnomes for so long that having a day to ourselves was practically unheard of. It reminded me of the days before we had children. It seems like such a long time ago!
Tuesdays are still work days, though, so we couldn't have the whole day to ourselves, sadly. Oh well! This alien thing won't be going on forever... oh wait, I don't know that. Yikes! Oh man, that's a new thing to worry about. Is everything going to be settled when whoever this helper is arrives? No one has said that it will be, I've just been assuming. What if the rest of our lives are consumed by this war?
I've got to stop thinking that way, I mean thinking selfishly, that is. The important thing is that an entire civilization is suffering, that's why I should want it to be resolved. The sooner this is settled the sooner innocent people won't be dying. Man, I sound like a terrible person. I really do feel bad for them! Honest!
Cycl0n3 says that the kids were very silent after school. I hope nothing bad happened at school. Knowing them, though, school was just fine, they're probably just thinking about their assignments and how to make that next breakthrough.
Let's just take a minute to admire my children, shall we? They're just teenagers, but they're the ones working the hardest on saving the aliens. That's quite impressive and really speaks to how self-sacrificing they are. I've got myself some really excellent kids, huh?
My husband is pretty great, too! I may or may not have mentioned to him that he was getting a tad flabby...
As soon as he finished his homework, Hector went to bed. I've got the feeling that tonight will be another night of work for him, either stargazing or working out or making potions, or whatever it is that's he's working on right now.
Raquel is apparently sacrificing some of her precious snow time to work on some potions. If you asked me, I'd say that Hector is slightly better with the chemistry set than she is, but that's just my personal opinion. Apparently the aliens think that she's doing something important there, or they'd switch her to something else, no doubt.
Hmm, what does it say about me that my only task is the laundry? Phfbbt, I'm not gonna think about that one.
Cycl0n3 was the first one in the modified tub. He looks a little uncertain of it. Not that I blame him, I know that I designed the upgrade, but even I'm not sure how exactly it manages to clean itself. Bath tubs just weren't designed to do that.
He enjoyed his bath, though, I know you can't tell from the look on his face, but he did.
Continuing the laundry day theme that was forgotten just as soon as it was mentioned, I did laundry after work. I bet that's an unusual sight, a superstar athlete doing laundry. You know for being as famous as we are, we really do everything like normal people. We don't hire anyone, no nannies, repairmen, maids, etc to do our dirty work for us. Hmm, we're not as strapped for cash as we used to be, maybe we should start hiring people... it would save us a lot of work! Then again, we'd have to get someone we trusted, and I'm just not sure who I can trust. You understand, of course. Well, I guess that settles it, we'll be doing everything ourselves for the foreseeable future. Oh well! Here I was getting my hopes up for nothing!
The evening highlighted our domestic routine, and just how boring our lives would be if we didn't have some alien drama going on. Cycl0n3 cooks, I clean, day in, day out. It's a happy life, though, just not terribly entertaining to document for my adoring fans.
I went to bed while Cycl0n3 and Raquel worked on their latest game of chess. I'm glad that my family is all pretty close. We spend time together like a normal family, despite everything. I think that's great. It's times like these when I wish that my family from _____ would visit or drop us a line. I've lived this whole life without them now, and I haven't even heard from them for so long. I wonder if they're all okay.
As I settled in for the night I felt something change. There was a definite shift in the atmosphere. Are we gearing up for the final battle?
Remembering that nails are prettier when not bitten off,
Lynn Sw0rd
 SN is installed! Excited? How is this going to change our lovely Sw0rd family? Will Cycl0n3's love of zombies ever show back up? How will the family react when they realize that zombies are real?!?!?!
I know, THOSE are the questions you've been pondering about in regards to the DOARS. :P
  1. I love seeing the snow, being Seasons-deficient. I'm excited to see how Supernatural fits into your game, too!
    Lynn and Cycl0n3 are very sweet together.
    1. For having had SN for a little over a week of DOARS time, it's factoring in surprisingly little... They haven't met any kind of supernatural, the zombies haven't been showing up for the full moon, which is actually QUITE surprising, given how many zombies there are everywhere else! It makes me sad. :( Someday, though, I'm determined to let Cycl0n3 see a real zombie!
    2. I accidentally had a party on a full moon and there were no less than 4 zombies there... maybe Cycl0n3 could meet a zombie that way?
    3. Lol! I should try that, it's a really good idea! Next full moon, it's party time! It'll be a good way to get the Samples back over, too. :)
    4. It worked really well! You'll get to read about that in Week 8 Chapter 1. :)
  2. Well, supernatural characters aren't going to show up unless you create them, move to someplace that already has them (Moonlight Falls). I assume that they'll very slowly immigrate into your town.
    Not sure about the zombies. I'd assume you would have those.
    I loved Lynn's signoff there :).
    1. Good to know about the supernaturals! Thanks. :D
      I was wondering because in my just for fun 'hood that I have going almost all the normal residents have converted. Connor is a fairy, the Harts and Goths are werewolves, the Boyd are witches, etc, but I think the difference is that I made that SV after SN came out.
      That's okay, though, because I have definite plans for when I introduce any of the supernaturals into the story, and we're not quite there, yet.
