DOARS- Week 7 Day 3- From Another Dimension

Welcome back to the DOARS! I hope you enjoyed your little break. :) This is the first post with any significant amount of time after SN was installed.
~~~~~~~~~
 Dear Diary,
Last night I felt something strange as I was falling asleep and this morning everything is decidedly green. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone, or some sort of twisted green black light.
It's creepy.
It doesn't seem to be that bad outside, though.  I mean, Hector doesn't look discolored to me anyways.
It certainly gives the dishes a disturbing glow! Time to get those suckers off the table. Usually someone cleans up after dinner, but I guess last night it slipped our minds. I could have done without the glowing dirty plates on the dining room table, though. I'll have to keep that in mind for the future.
The odd light persists for several hours. It's really ruining my day. I think my eyeballs are starting to burn. Who do I sue if it causes permanent damage? I am Lynn Sw0rd, after all, my eyes are worth a great deal of money, they happen to be essential to my career, you know.
So what do I do? I appeal to the gnomes. They seem to be able to fix most things, so hopefully they'll take care of this.
Then I go about taking care of the house. I do an awful lot of cleaning around here, but I think everyone is happy to live in a clean home. Now I know what you're thinking, most mothers stop making their children's beds for them every day before the kids get too far into elementary school. Now let me just say this, for one: don't tell me what to do, and two: my kids are saving the galaxy and you're getting onto me about making their beds for them? Uh huh, that's what I thought, you have nothing to say about that, now do you? Some people really ought to mind their own business.
Just think about it, I'm graciously allowing you into my life to learn all the nitty gritty details about the sports phenomenon that is the athlete formerly known as Lynn Winslow, and you're giving me flack about how I raise my kids? Yes, you're right, that was awfully ungrateful of you. But, it's okay. I forgive you.
Disturbed by the disturbing light, Cycl0n3 didn't waste any time heading out of doors. He makes some pretty good nectar, not that I've tasted it. He insists on selling it and not sampling it. Silly man! He better watch out though, mark my words I will taste some homemade nectar before I die! Besides, what kind of nectar maker never tastes their own product? How do they know if it's any good?
After working out, Hector notices that the gnomes have been hard at work! Look at that! We've got an expanded gym area and an indoor garden! Well that took care of the problem, you'll see a bit later that the plants are now in planters and thus out of dormancy. I'm so glad the gnomes took care of that, because I really wasn't sure how I was going to solve that winter gardening issue.
And more green lights and housecleaning for me. I'm trying to decide if the lighting is more or less noticeable in the aqua/green bathroom. What do you think? Yeah, you're right, It's still pretty noticeable. I mean, things are glowing. It's just downright creepy. What's next, an alien invasion? The implosion of our planet?
The thing is, those things don't even seem unlikely! Probably I'll turn around in a few minutes and face an army of aliens that have come to destroy the consciousness behind the planet I'm living on!
When I turned around ten minutes later, that was not the case. Also the light had returned to normal, so I spent all that time freaking out for nothing. That's nice to know.
Well, the kids got off to school and their homework looked fine when I checked it, so nothing to worry about on that score. As I was no longer worrying about odd lights, winter gardening, or really anything, I got to enjoy watching my husband work out. I might be imagining it, but I think he's gaining some of his 'buff' back.
After school, my kids decided to do their homework at the graveyard. You would never catch me dead at the graveyard! Those places are creepy, probably even creepier than the weird light this morning.
I had a bit of time before work, so I helped Cycl0n3 out with his garden, which takes up a lot more space now, but it produces well and we weren't using the space for anything else. You know, there's something about a green house that I just love. In my head they're warm places filled with love. I know, that's not always true, but I hope that our greenhouse will feel like that.
We did discover that the sprinklers don't water plants in planters. Don't ask me why they don't, frankly that's annoying and not logical, but whatever! They don't water them, so I imagine that as soon as the ground thaws the plants will be outside again, because that's a lot more work.
I was promoted to Sports Legend! I'm at the top. People all over the galaxy know who I am, people in third world countries have heard about my mad soccer skills, there's no where to go from here but down... wait, that's looking at the wrong angle. I've got everything that I set out to have. The house, the fence, two kids, a wonderful husband, a life that I really shouldn't complain about as often as I do, and I have a part of saving an entire species. That's not too shabby.
So Hector has really been working out a lot, it's got to have something to do with the aliens. Is he going to be a soldier or something? Do they even have soldiers? How would you use a soldier against a force that doesn't really have a corporeal form, or well, whose corporeal form (our planet) you're unwilling to harm? Don't take the wrong way, I don't want them harming our planet, that would be bad for us, but still ... do they even need soldiers?
Unbeknownst to me, my children's "nephews" came over to spend the night. I'm looking pretty closely at them, but I'm going to be honest here, I don't really see a family resemblance. Plus, that story is pretty far fetched. Cycl0n3's family from another dimension? That's a bit hard to swallow. As if Cycl0n3 would ever fall for a woman who wasn't me... well... unless... I don't exist in that world? That's a scary thought! Is there a world out there that I'm not a part of?
Well, my questions about their genetics were answered pretty soon after they got here. No one breaks a toilet like Cycl0n3 and his male descendants. I guess in this case grandchildren. Still weird. I'll try to accept it, I mean I've accepted stranger things, right?
Well, it's time to go to bed and try not to forget that I have a house full of teenage boys who are claiming to be my step-grandkids. Also, are you proud of me? I didn't worry about the war hardly at all, and there was practically no mention of still waiting for whatever it is that will change the alien's fate, so I think I'm doing a pretty good job of being patient. I'm gonna pat myself on the back for that one. Seriously, me not constantly freaking out is progress!
Grandma?
-Lynn Sw0rd
P.S. They are DEAD meat if they try to call me grandma!
That was my very first sleepover in the sims 3! I never bother much with parties, because I happen to loath them in real life, lol, but it was actually pretty fun, and I have to admit that having the Samples hanging out with the kids outside of school was pretty neat. :) It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
  1. Yay! More Samples! I like how the family-from-another-dimension is fitting into your story. Poor Lynn, though... a dimension where Cycl0n3 loved another...
    The picture of doing homework in the graveyard makes me chilly just looking at it!
    I like the indoor garden, too bad the sprinklers don't work though.
    1. I love having the Samples in my game! It's a blast. :) It kind of makes me want to include them more in the story, lol! Hector actually has a wish to be BFF's with Forest, but I can't get Forest to stay over long enough to fulfill it!
  2. Cyclone in my dimension didn't do so well in the love department until after he was dead. Perhaps that would be comforting to Lynn :).
    This is so cute! And Forest really did look dashing with his new makeover. He and Hector should totally be BFFs! They have so much in common. Though it would be terribly dangerous to the world for them to start working together.
    Though I found it really annoying to get two members of the same household as BFFs (Sky and Hunter). Since there's no indicator of interest like thinking someone's irresistible, I could never tell if the other sim would accept -- even when she had the wish to be BFFs herself!
    1. I really wanted them to be BFF's but Forest kept escaping so I could never actually ask him to be the bff! Really annoying! Then Hector grew up and that was that. :( They're still best friends and as soon as Forest is an adult I'll probably make them room mates. They'll enjoy that! Since their evilness is focused on Tony I think the rest of simmanity should be fine. :D
