DOARS- Week 4 Day 3 - Angry Appliances

The first day of seasons!
I'll tell you right now, though, that it's summer and they had a non-eventful sunny day. So you probably won't notice the weather. at. all.

Dear Diary,

I didn't really think that there was a worse way of waking up than a screaming baby/toddler, but there is. And it was miserable.

I think it was about 3 am, when I got up to this unpleasant task. I was not well rested at all, but I decided to stay up, mainly because Hector was awake and I thought it would be good to get a head start on his skills. I mean, my goal is to have him walking, talking, and going potty by himself before the baby gets here. It's a pretty ambitious goal, but I think I'll be able to do it. Don't you? I mean, I'm the athlete formerly known as Lynn Winslow, aren't I?

Well, I guess it's confirmed. I'm pregnant. Really, truly, unquestionably pregnant. I guess I can't keep complaining about it. Maybe a new baby won't be that bad. They'll be cute. They'll be another opportunity to see Cycl0n3 be a dad. Speaking of Cycl0n3, he'll be happy to have another baby, I'm sure. And when they get older, they can keep Hector company. All in all, this baby will be a good thing.... I'm determined to believe that. I haven't quite got there, yet, but I will.... hopefully.

Being the wonderful mother that I am, I of course taught my son how important money was to the gnomes. I mean, without money the gnomes can't get you things, but if you have lots of money the gnomes will build you the best home around. I hope the gnomes took notes.... and of course I hope that my son remembers, too, I guess I can't forget that one.

I noticed that he was getting squirmy while we were chatting, so I rushed him to the potty and I think we got it in time. Go us! I think I am getting the hang of this mother thing and by the time the new baby is a toddler, I might even get the hang of mothering a baby.... maybe. Though, think about it, I never dropped Hector, that makes me pretty proud.

Cycl0n3 got up eventually, very well rested, and since I was monopolizing our son (and our son, me) he went to work out. I think we should take note of how his sweater fits him now. Do you see it? He's very very muscular. Teaching him to work out was just about the best thing I've done for him, besides the children, of course, though really the two things aren't entirely unrelated.

I really did spend the entire day with Hector. Which was surprisingly fun. I used to be a toddler coach, so I'm pretty good with the little guys, if I do say so myself. Plus, little Hector here has an athletic inclination, I'm sure of it. He's so strong! I bet when we start working with him on walking, he'll take off like no one's business. I really hope he becomes an athlete when he grows up. That would be awesome!

I left Hector to play alone with his doll for a little bit. I seem to hear him calling her Pat, so I guess that's her name. Could be worse, right? He plays pretty nice with her, so I guess he only enjoys watching his parents suffer.... or watching things that can actually express themselves suffer.
I hope he grows out of that, I really do. I guess I should try to instill in him why it's good to be kind and considerate...

More laundry time, I mean, we're expecting a new baby and we definitely need to appease the gnomes. We desperately need new things around here... I just wish we had more money to pay for them. Oh well! I'm not sure what we're going to do, but we'll manage somehow... even though it does look like the babies will be rooming with us for a while.

Let this be a lesson to you, don't have a baby, much less two, if you can't really afford to buy a crib and add a new room to the house. Got it?

We hate, HATE, that stupid washing machine. It might be worth it to scrap the thing and do laundry at the laundromat.

It may have been later than normal, but Cycl0n3's garden did eventually get the attention it needed... while he was in his bed clothes. Feel free to take this time to admire how toned he is. Well... don't admire him too much, he's my husband and I don't want you getting any ideas. Actually just forget it- don't look at him, at all!

It was back to working with Hector on words  in the early afternoon. I think I tried to get him to understand what love was for about four hours! After that he wandered off, and I took another break. Exploring was good for him, and I got some time to rest my aching back, all in all it was a win-win.

It wasn't much of a break, though, because pretty soon it was naptime. Man, Hector can be cranky even when he's happy, but he's a little terror when he's tired! I wasted no time putting him to bed.

I'm pretty sure he's trying to convince me that he's an angel. Just look at that face! You never would have known that minutes ago it seemed like he was trying to burst my ear drums.

What time was it? 3:49 pm, and I was going to bed. I couldn't help it! Being pregnant is tiring in itself, not to mention that we had a very early start to the day. So I'm hitting the sack. I'm assuming Cycl0n3 will probably join me at a reasonable time, hopefully he has a good evening, without me.

About to pass out,

Lynn Sw0rd

    1. Fortunately Lynn does, she's got level 4 handiness, but she's acts like it's much higher! She's repaired quite a few electrical stuff before w/o getting electrocuted. :)

  2. Ahahaha...those last too pics made me CRACK UP!

Yeesh, you're a good writer, Isa. I will admit, I once believed myself to be slightly more talented...but I have truly been upstaged. :)

    1. Lol, I love Cycl0n3. He has seriously surpassed Leighton as my dream guy of SV- surprising, no?

I'm surprised you said that on this chapter, it's not one of my better ones, but I appreciate the compliment. :)
I think it's a quantity thing- but hey give it a couple (5) more years and I'm sure you'll beat me again. :)

  3. It's nice to see Lynn adjusting to being a mother, I know it was quite a shock to her system to suddenly be married with a baby!
