Last one, people!

Dear Diary,
Today we broke the string of lonely mornings. Isn't that wonderful? Well, I'm happy about it. Whether this is due to the automatic sprinkler, or having only one toddler in the house, I can't say, but whatever it is, hopefully it'll stay! I could get used to waking up next to him every day, wait scratch that, I want to get used to waking up to him every day, and I'll be a little peeved if I don't get to.
When Cycl0n3 did finally get up, I was helping Raquel with her walking (which she eventually did master). Cycl0n3 seemed to have a little extra bounce in his step, which I think is because he actually got to sleep during the night! I think it would be hard for anyone to have a nocturnal schedule, because I don't really care who you are, you just don't sleep as well during the day as you do at night. Hopefully his waking nights are a thing of the past now.
Around 6:30, Hector crawled out of bed and after a brief "G'morning" to me and his father and sister, he went straight to the telescope. I think he might have mumbled about 'evil happenings' or something like that. I must admit that I was slightly worried, but when I saw that he was just using the telescope, I was a lot less worried. What kind of trouble could he get into with the telescope?
Wait, telescope! The gnomes sure have been busy! They must have got us that when they gave us the new bed for Hector. That was thoughtful of them!
Before too long, and before any of us were truly ready the school bus came and carried Hector off to his first day of school. I hope it goes okay and he doesn't get bullied.... or bully any of the other kids.
With only one kid in the house, one that was happily playing with her doll by herself, it gave me and Cycl0n3 the opportunity to spend our time outside together again. I think we're picking the tradition back up, or at least I hope so. Since I have work in a few hours, I'm trying to get pumped so that I'll be in top shape for the pre-game practice.
Speaking of work, when the carpool came I was already walking out the door. I can't believe I'm going back to work! I'm so excited! I think it's been like... two weeks since I worked, or maybe longer! I can't really remember, it's just been far far too long. I hope I still remember everyone's names...
After school, Cycl0n3 helped Hector out with his homework. I guess spelling was giving Hector a hard time, but after Cycl0n3 started working him through it, he apparently understood it pretty quickly. I guess Cycl0n3 must be a pretty good teacher, who knew?
Well, I probably could have guessed, Cycl0n3 is amazing, after all.
.... and so am I because I got promoted! On my first day back! I'm now the official starter for the SV Llamas! That's pretty impressive, you've got to admit.
When I got home the kids were already in bed (which is good, since it was past 10 o'clock) and so was Cycl0n3, so I went straight to bed as well. I wanted to tell Cycl0n3 about my promotion, but that can wait until the morning.
The newest and probably happiest starter in SV history,
Lynn Sw0rd
Woot! Now she can climb the ranks fast, I'd guess.
ReplyDeleteWith her athletic skill, I guess she does! I was surprised that she got promoted, actually! I don't even think she knows half of the team anymore!
Delete... and you're caught up! I'm surprised and impressed. :)
I couldn't believe more posts kept showing up in my RSS feed. That was one heck of a posting blitz.
DeleteOh, right, and My Sims Reality posted a 30x30 festival grounds. Woot!
DeleteYay! Congrats! Thanks for the update, actually, that's really good to know.:)
DeleteI couldn't believe the posting blitz either! lol.
So I'm trying to download your sim, but she won't install! So I'm trying the fam you made and then re-downloading the sim, and we'll see how that goes.
Argh. Which sim won't install?
DeleteYour self sim, I think she's listed as number 4, and also Ada, but since she's not an heir, I'm not fussing with her too much. I have the rest of the gang, though!
DeleteI seem to remember reading on your blog that you had a hard time with some of the sims you were installing, too. I couldn't find the post when I looked for it just now, though. What did you do to install those ones that were giving you trouble?
DeleteYeah, and my simself has nothing unusual about her except that she has Nouk's Not Another Ponytail custom hair:http://anubis360.blogspot.com/2010/10/nouk-not-another-ponytail-teen-to-elder.html (EA highlights). Everything else she has is base game. I'll be happy to upload her without the CC.
DeleteI never got past the error message with that other sim, but I found her in the sim bin when I was making households out of other sims.
Also, I have the Weaver household, which is that same sim and a simself of my cat. You could try that one.
Actually I'm trying to install both of them, I think I know why they aren't installing, though. Everything above 8 mb has issues with my launcher (I guess it can't handle it?). So I think it's the size, but I have a couple of other things I'm going to try with it.... but if you want to upload a cc free version, and if it isn't too much trouble I would like that. :)
DeleteWait, hold up, I think I got her to install! I used a tool over at MATY to "de-crapify" her sim pack and that seemed to do the trick- she is now actually showing up as installed (and staying that way no matter how many times I open my launcher) so now we just need to load the game to verify!
DeleteWoot!
DeleteOK, I have to know -- what the heck is "decrapify"? I have seen it referenced all over the modding world, and I've ever done searches on MATY, and I still have never found the definition. Usually, modders say, "If you don't know what it is, don't worry about it."
Lol! In the section of MATY that has the various tools for sims 3 (I think there's like... 4 or 5 of them) one of them is geared towards sim packs and is called s3rc or something like that. The rar that it's in includes s3rc and also de-crapify. I use them both on a file (de-crapify first and then s3rc) and then they almost always install. It's really handy! My internet is refusing to open the page right now, or I'd post a link for you.
DeleteNvmnd, it loaded!

it really is just drag and drop over the file... well... you're a mac, right? Not sure how that works... of if it works.... Sorry!
Thanks!
DeleteIt most certainly doesn't run on a Mac. Pretty much nothing in the Sims modding community supports Macs. But I have a Windows virtual machine that I can run on my computer. I've considered just running the game that way, but it seems like the extra layer of confusion would probably cause more problems than it solves. But I run Create-A-World, s3pe, skintonator, and other miscellaneous Sims tools on the Windows virtual machine and then copy the files back to the Mac side. The game file formats are all cross-platform, so I've never met anything that didn't run fine when I did that.
I'll take a look at these. I admit that I don't spend a lot of time on MATY because Pescado drives me nuts.
Yeah, he's kind of a jerk, but this tool seems to be pretty useful! Although I do tend to forget about it.... lol, I guess that's cos I really don't install large sims3Packs very often...
DeleteYeah, looking through that stuff, I can see that he provides some useful utilities for things like file bloat, and Twallan doesn't do that. Still, he never explains what decrapify DOES, and I know there are compatibility issues with some objects. His post about it where he said an entire save file had to be decrapified made me pause.
DeleteYeah, I would be lying if I said I understood what exactly it does, but I only use it with things I install through the launcher, and only if I can't install them otherwise, so I don't feel too bad for not understanding. :)
DeleteYay! Back to work and a promotion. Looks like Cycl0n3 has everything covered at home... it's nice when things settle down a little.
