DOARS- Week 5 Day 4- Invasion

Welcome back, it's been a while, huh? ;)

I must say that I'm both happy and unhappy that each generation has the number of kids decided... because I really want them to have another baby! I'm crazy, right? They could barely function with the two they had, but.... but... but.... it'd be another Lynn/Cycl0n3 baby... and... they both rolled up wants to have another one. However! I'll be good. No more babies for this couple, no matter how much I want them to have just one more. I mean, it doesn't feel like their family is complete to me. I feel like there's someone missing and I want to fill that hole with another little one. Even if I was willing to break the rules for a baby, (and I'm not) I would not be willing to do the maternity time. Seriously, though, you know you wish they were having another baby, too, don't you?

Dear Diary,

I didn't wake up alone again today.  It really is a wonderful feeling waking up next to the love of your life. I could probably do that every day. Oh wait! That's the plan!

I think I may have to put my foot down and do something about all this pepto-bysmal in the house. It was cute when we were newly weds, but now it's getting a little old. The black is fine, though, it's a very chic color and makes this place look a little fancy. Don't let it fool you, though, our little abode is still very humble. We recently got a few opportunities to cash in on our new found fame (commercials, cameos in plays, and what not), so pretty soon we'll have the money we need to renovate this place. I'm thinking new paint, new floor plan, heck, we'll just bulldoze the thing and build it from the ground up! It'll be grand. The family will love it!

Of course, the first course of action for the day was laundry. We do an awful lot of laundry in this house, almost every day. Seems to keep us all in clean clothes, despite having had two babies, so I think we'll keep up the tradition of daily laundray, at least for the meantime.

 My son was still sleeping when I went to check in on him. He's growing up to be a fine man, don't you think? I know he's had some behavioral issues in the past, what with biting and hissing and general sadism and what not, but he'll be all right. We've done our best to teach him right from wrong, encourage him when possible and punish him when needed. That's all we can do. Plus, isn't that part of the fun of being a parent? Seeing your kids develop their own personalities? I'd hate to be too controlling and miss the opportunity to see him become who he wants to be. I think he'll become the kind of man his ole pops can be proud of.

 I found some time with my honey this morning before breakfast, I tell you what, raising kids is not for the faint of heart. The drain on the time you spend with your spouse is brutal! I'm so glad we're past the busiest years, because I miss the time we used to spend toghether.

 Not that we're always kissing, I want you to know that. There is substance in our relationship. I mean we talk about the value of shirts and contrast the pros and cons of wearing them or not wearing them. That's kind of deep, right? Nah, just yanking your chain! I mean, we do talk about that, or did today, but we also talk about our kids, how to program random number generators, the best way to hack through a firewall- you know the normal deep stuff that couples talk about.

 And we do a healthy amount of soul searching... into each other's eyes. There's a lot to be said for staring into the eyes of the person you love and knowing they love you every inch as much as you love them, even if they can't always admit it to themselves.

 I'm not sure where the kids were this morning, well actually they were probably asleep, wouldn't you imagine? Not that it matters, the only thing that mattered to us this morning was taking advantage of the time we had! We slow danced- for the first time I might add, and I think we talked and slowly worked our way around the room for a few hours. Long enough that my stomach was rumbling, anyways!

 I'm not sure we ever would have stopped dancing, but there was an incident involving toes, and well.... let's just say that it was better to give up the idea of dancing all together and leave it at that.

 Plus, the kids had woken up, so there were things to do. Hector seemed to take an awful long time in the little men's room this morning, so I'm thinking we should add a little more fiber to his diet, the poor kid must have been struggling a whole lot for how long he was in there!

 Of course the more pressing matters included breakfast being made and babies being snuggled. Our little Raquel is just precious isn't she? She's the apple of my eye, I do feel a bit bad for Hector, though, because I wonder if he thinks we love her better. Of course, he might be right there... don't get me wrong, we love our son, but well, sometimes you can't help but pick favorites now can you?

 Speaking of our son, that boy has a love of the sky and stars and everything logical and scientific. I think how the universe is arranged just fascinates his little mind. Maybe he'll be a scientist when he grows up? Wouldn't that be fine? I'd love it if he went into a mental field of study, he'd be perfectly suited for it, I think.

 Now we believe in manners in this household, so being thanked for cooking a delicious meal is a given. It's important to feel appreciated, isn't it? I think it's part of what keeps our relationship healthy, don't you?

 Today, we were scheduled for our various bookings around town, so we hired a sitter for Raquel. She was out cold when we left, so I'm pretty sure she won't wake up before one of us gets home. Hopefully she'll never even know we were gone.

 Over at the Theatre I ran into a very famous person, Anya. She's so famous I don't even know her last name! The best part of all is that she came especially to see my cameo in the play. Isn't that something? I have to admit, she was a little creepy, but she's famous and apparently she's a fan of mine! I'm not sure what is harder to believe, that I have fans or that a famous person is among them? I'll have to think on that and get back to you.

 Of course, Anya came with one of her close friends, another famous lady, Lita. She sure didn't seem to enjoy the play, though, because halfway through she ran out of the theatre. I guess she's got more discerning tastes than that other friend of hers. Well, can't win them all, right?

 There was a new family in town, just across the street, actually, that we were particularly keen on getting to know. They seemed to be a friendly sort of people.

 The best part of all is they're all rather good looking and have completely fresh features! I mean, I don't think I've ever seen anyone like them. They definitely don't look like they're from around here. I sure hope we can be friends, because I think they'll do wonders for our social life.

 Of course, there wasn't much time spent in their company because today was the big exciting game! The first game of the rising star and famous athlete formerly known as Lynn Winslow! That was not a game to be missed, I tell ya. 14-1, Llamas' victory. Everyone agrees that it's due to the (and I quote), "Hot, little fire cracker of a starter" on the team. Pretty flattering, if I do say so myself. Though it's a bit unsettling to hear random strangers say that...

 Hector really enjoyed the game, too, he told me so on the way home. I'm so glad he got off school just in time to go. Both of us really want to encourage him to pursue both mental and physical pursuits. He'll be more rounded that way, or at least that's what we're hoping for.  I think it worked, too, because all the way home he was talking about how he wanted to be a sports star and win lots of games. it was cute, but I'm sure he'll forget about it in no time. Kids that age do, you know.

 Fortunately it wasn't that late when we all got home, and sure enough Raquel was still asleep, so I guess we probably averted a crisis, there. Though, she's been baby sat before, she was awfully young when that happened, and probably the less baby sitting the better. I don't like being away from my kids any longer than I have to.

 Hector, showing that he can really be a good little boy, sat down immediately after getting home to do his homework. I thought about sitting down and helping him with it. He kind of looked like he was struggling, you see, but I thought to myself, "no, just wait a bit, he might get the hang of it on his own," and sure enough, he did. He's really a smart little boy, I probably underestimate him more than I ought.

 Well, someone had put dye in the shower and I'll give you one guess as to who that was. Yup, got it in one: Hector. That boy had better mind himself more. We don't tolerate those kinds of shenanigans in this house.

Nor that either, if he ever stops being grounded it'll be too soon, but I digress. I've learned one thing in my life, and that is... wait, not that's not true. I've learned many things, but one of the things I've learned is that you should never punish kids when you're mad, because then you feel guilty and whether  they deserve it or not, you let them off the hook and then they learn that they can get away with whatever they feel like. So we decided to give it a few hours before doling out his punishment, just to make sure we were being fair to him. We don't want to be too harsh- but we do need to teach that boy to mind himself and respect others.

 Of course, the unfortunate consequence is that he thinks he got away with it a little bit, but we'll correct him on that pretty soon, don't worry.

 See? Dealt with. He was grounded for a week and told that the consequences would be worse the next time. I'll leave it up to your imagination as to what precisely was said, though.

The man of the house himself,

Cycl0n3 Sw0rd

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, I know you guys probably weren't expecting me to do a chapter from Cycl0n3's point of view already! So tell me, when did you figure it out? Huh? Huh? There was a lot of clues, so you were probably pretty sharp and got it early on. Not to mention that the voice was completely different! ... and much less crazy, lol! Well, I was supposed to be asleep hours ago, but I got the idea for this so I just had to do it! I hope you enjoyed this little change of pace.
  1. I'm all caught up! And TOTALLY the first commenter! xD
    I didn't realize this was from Cycl0ne's POV until the sign-off! I did a double-take. XD
    Thank you for all the updates! They've been great. ^.^
    1. Yay first comment! Congrats, Anya. Sorry your sim was so creepy! I'm hoping she'll be normal the next time we see her. :)
      Oh, dad and twinnie totally hate Lita's sim! Can you believe it? I thought it turned out pretty good, but I guess not. Dad even suggested Claudia Black- but said her coloring was wrong. He never got who it was... :(
  2. Yay! I'm caught up!
    It took me too long to figure out that it Cycl0n3, about halfway through... but I'm blaming that on the three kids who won't shut up and let me read.
    Cycl0n3 matches the bathroom!
  3. I wasn't prepared, and I didn't realize it. I noticed the voice and attitude change, but I thought maybe Lynn had changed her mind about some things. Hah!
    It was cool seeing my simself! And you loaded another copy of yourself into the game? That's a bit confusing.
    1. Lol! Yeah, it's a bit confusing, but my simself is.... oh.... 24 (or so) days younger, so whereas I might change her style around, I thought it'd be okay. Plus, I very much doubt that I'll be seeing my simself around very often, it seems like we see the Samples and the other simReaders around a lot more often!
      .... but mainly the Samples.... I think I've seen Ada around at least 10 times.... which is every time someone has an opportunity.... lol! I like seeing her, though. :) I just wish that I would see Charles and Veronica and Zahra and the rest a bit more, too.
